Review/Setlist

Friday July 8, 2005
Marcus Amphitheater, Summerfest - Milwaukee, WI
Opener: Anna Nalick, The Wallflowers

Overall a fantastic day and an unbelievable show! I was so lucky to be able to spend the day with such wonderful people! We enjoyed the fest all day, smiled whenever anyone did a double take at our matching shirt and of course failed signage 101 yet again. During the show it was great to look around and see so many familiar and smiling faces around us. The tickets through the fan club were fantastic! Never in a million years did I think I've end up front and center at the Marcus. How sweet it was!

On to the show:
1. Dreams - Kenny, Kenny Kenny! He seems to give the whole song a makeover with those beats of his. And of course we love every minute of it!
2. Only Love
3. Still the Night
- Sam assured us "this is Milwaukee's night...we're Milwaukee's band...so lets have some fun!" - We sure did Sam...we sure did!
4. Fadeway - ...bed's too big without you....bed's too big without.....(lovin' it!)
5. 617
6. Makes U
- Kurt gave us a very heart-felt intro to Makes U saying something like 'some say this maybe the last year, whether or not it is, it's been a pleasure.'
7. Texas Ride Song - the "Shall we Shall We" song,...or is it "Shelby Shelby" song? :)
8. You Don't Get Much - Can almost guarantee Kenny blew everyone away on this one! It's hard to believe how fast that man can move, keep everything in beat, make it sound great and barely even break a sweat! Band or no band, I could watch him play for hours!
9. Try To Get T You (Elvis) - .....absolutely makes me weak in the knees! What a treat to hear that cover!
10. Runaway
11. Jenny Rae
12. Good Work
13. Naked
14. Feed the Fire
15. Closer to Free
--encore--
Kenny walked out first and immediately started drumming away before the rest of the band even walked back out.
16. Nobody Loves Me - Sammy dances! whoo!
17. Good Things

Bob looked like he was having a great time and at one point he came out to the front of the stage, held up his bass and said to all of us down in front. "Can you FEEL it!" - yeah! - "Can you HEAR it!" - yeah!

Everyone seemed to be having a great time. There is definitely something special in the air whenever they play Milwaukee and there was no exception this time around. Although for whatever reason, this time the entire night to to also have a very sentimental feel, from the setlist full of old crowd favorites, to the heartfelt intro to Makes U, right down to the hugs on stage at the end of the set! If this really is the last time, they definitely went out with a bang!

Speaking of those hugs at the end.....when they finished CTF, Kenny had come down from his drum kit to wave to us all and to walk off stage, then Sam goes up to him, gives him a great big hug around Kenny's waist! THEN they get turned around so Kenny's back is to us then Sam grabs Kenny's ass! And this was an all-out, two-handed, full butt cheek ass grab! LOL! Too funny!
