Review/Setlist

Pantages Theater - Minneapolis, MN

New Year's Eve brought everyone together one last time this year for yet another rocking show. We arrived at Pantages, took our seats front and center. Marveled at our incredible luck getting those seats and then made a bathroom and beer run. As we were walking up the stairs from the bathroom, we could hear them starting to play Ultimately Fine. So for the second time in a week, we were half running, half dancing our way down the aisle to our seats! Once we got to our seats, we were greeted with a great big smile from Eric!

Again there were only a few people dancing but that didn't stop us! :) Half of the second row, and almost the entire second row were all empty (radio promo seats I believe) but were soon filled by our friends who wasted not time coming up front to join us.

Alright, setlist time:
1. Ultimately Fine - everyone on stage AND off were ultimately fine that night! (gotta love those pinstripes!)
2. Heart of a Miracle
3. Idaho
4. Makes U
5. Dreams - awesome drumming as always!
6. Misery - before they started, Sam took an extra long time rolling up his sleeves. Guess he was ready to get down to business.
7. Brand New
8. Stay On
9. Good Work - rocking version with the Batman rifff, but no singing it though.
---30 min break---
10. Fadeaway w/Bed's Too Big - the entire theater are on their feet now.
11. Texas Ride Song - When it came time to jump, Eric jumped half way across the stage right towards the girls sitting over on the side of the stage. Too cute! Kenny was making his kissy face at Sam again too! Afterwards, Kurt started playing a few seconds of the same silly song, Snow is Falling, that he played the night before. Then stops and says "Wait, that was last night"
12. Still the Night
13. Runaway w/Del Shannon intro
14. You Don't Get Much
15. True Devotion
16. Jenny Rae - absolutely love it every time! After the song was over, Sam introduces "Kurt Robert Neumann...not only does he sing, not only does he play, but he dances too! Kurt then does this little dance/jig for us and says "That's only a sample" :)
17. Naked w/Rickshaw Riding
18. Closer to Free
-------encore-------
19. Only Love - TFA - out of all 3 times they did this in the past week, this was definitely the best version!
20. Nobody Loves Me - with a bit of Sammy dance, but it was later in the song and much shorter than in previous shows.
21. Good Things - what a total frenzy! Absolutely loved it!

Despite the fact that the show was over well before midnight, we still were able to enjoy a champaign toast at midnight and shared lots of laughs into the wee morning hours back at the hotel. Overall it was anawesome evening. Loved being surrounded by such good friends, enjoying good music, everyone looking mighty fine and all set within a BoDeans concert. I can't help but thank everyone involved with the BoDeans. The band, the crew and everyone else involed. It has been a wonderful year, even with the many ups and downs that were faced. Here's to more many more roadtrips/concerts/family reunions and music to come!
