We made out way to Peru expecting just a fun, small town sort of fest and that's exactly what we got.

We arrived early, enjoyed the weather, a few drinks and some great company before moving up to the stage. Had no problem securing our usual spots while having fun watching the opener, who I might add did a very interesting (but cool) cover combining Lady Marmalade and Free Bird.

The guys came out around 8:15 and from start to finish looked like they were having a good time. More than a few line-up changes this time around. Bukka, Eric and Noah couldn't make this show, so instead we had the pleasure of seeing a new bassist, Billy Jones I believe was his name, and the wonderful Kevin Leahy on drums once again.

Setlist:
1. Say About Love
2. Good Work
3. Makes U - which btw sounds very different without an accordion, but still sounds great nonetheless.
4. Idaho - "Starin' at the world"
5. Angels - Always a favorite!
6. Texas Ride Song - we jumped, of course.
7. True Devotion - Sam introduced this one by talking about the Home disc and the drought that inspired some of it, in the process he fooled all of us with what song was coming next since we're used to the 'rain storm in Canada' story as an intro for this song.
8. Still the Night w/Wanna Be Sedated - Another sing-a-long song, but surprisingly....the crowd sang it wrong! LOL! Right in the middle of the song, when Kurt and Sam normally let the crowd sing the "I like the way you dance, I like the way you paint your lips......" instead, much of the crowd went on to sing (quite loudly) "If I could hold you tonight, I might never let go...." The guys were just laughing about it all and Sam says into the mic something to the effect of 'ok, that works'.. Pretty soon after that Kurt gave Kevin the signal, "Let's Go!" and they start speeding the song way up, just fast enough for Sam to throw in the Wanna Be Sedated lyrics. :)

10. Stay On - Sam starts telling us a story about them driving up to the place earlier in the day, and this guy stuck his head in the window and said "hey yous guys!" and Sam's comment then was "yup, we're at the right place" :)

14. Closer To Free - no accordion means....HARMONICA! Always a fun moment in the show!

All in all a fun night, the guys sounded great even with some alternative faces backing them up. And it really was a treat to see Kevin's smiling face back behind the kit again!

At one point between songs, Sam said that he was asked "Why would you want to go to Peru, IL?"..
Kurt replies "Because YOUS GUYS ROCK!".....Yup....it did rock.
