Review/Setlist

Saturday August 11, 2007
Peter's Park - Brillion, WI
Opener: Cory Chisel & The Wandering Son

After enjoying a lazy day recovering from the State Fair show the previous night, we finally made our way out of Appleton towards Brillion, although we did make a quick stop at a smalltown bar in the middle of nowhere which just happened to be named "BoDeans" - even though the place as no link to the band other than they share a name, it still made for a fun stop for the BoDivas and a great photo-op!

As we made our way to Brillion, we couldn't help but notice that the sky had increasingly grown darker. We hoped for the best though, and reassured ourselves that if we could survive the famous storms of Waterfest '05, then this would be nothin'! Eventually the rain, thunder & lighting did come, but it drifted more southward and we were spared from the worst of it. In the end, we had clear skies for the rest of the evening until the wee morning hours when if you looked hard enough, you would have seen five soaked BoDivas sprinting bar to bar along College Ave through a major downpour! :)

As for the evening's show, it had a much better vibe than the night before, just a more relaxed mood that previously both on and off stage. And of course the crowd always seems more into the show during a general admission show. Not to mention we personally always enjoy being front row rather than 4 rows back at the fair.

No matter what, by the time the guys took the stage, we were ready for it and enjoyed every moment of it!

1. Say About Love - again, Kenny had us in the palm of his hand with that first strike of a drum stick. You can't help but get caught up in the beat.
2. Good Work w/Batman - Batman played by Kurt, sung by the BoDivas.
3. Runaway - thank goodness there was no need for a "rain, rain, rain, go away" this time!
4. Idaho - "yeah!" - girls, I think they heard us this time! :)
5. First Time - thoroughly enjoying that this has been in set again. Nice to have something (semi-) new in the set again.
6. Texas Ride Song - we jumped, they jumped, can't imagine anything better at that moment. Except maybe some fantastic 4 up front shots! And of course they obliged!
7. Naked - slowed things down a bit and a good thing too. On a hot summer night like that, we needed a breather after TRS.
8. We Can Live - Kurt free-styling a bit with the lyrics after the famous "wait a minute!" lines. Reminded me so much of the Appleton '05 show...another fantastic show permanently ingrained in my memory!
9. Still the Night w/Sedated - back to the beloved Wanna Be Sedated snippet, and a fantastic ending with all the guys surrounding Kenny and him with a huge smile on his face!
10. Feed The Fire w/Shelter, Midnight Hour, Slow Ride & Don't Cha - after Kurt's fantastic solo Sam introduced him once again as "Kurt Robert Neumann....Guitar Hero!"
11. Go Slow Down - as if it wasn't hot enough that night! Feed & GSD back to back was enough to get any girl going!
Not to mention there was *quite* the show in the second row! As the shirts said....'what happens to the BoDivas...should happen to YOU!'
12. YDGM - words just don't describe the sensation of standing right up front while Kenny playings this. The power is truly amazing.
13. Closer To Free - more 4 up front moments and the power of a crowd favorite.
--encore--
14. Fadeaway - Kenny had a fantastic solo in the middle (as did Kurt), and it's things like that have made Fadeaway morph through the years into the power house of a song that it is.
15. Good Things - always such a bittersweet song, for it's a great song and you can't help but love hearing it and singing along with the rest of the crowd, but at the same time you also know the show is at it's end. Although, with Kenny closing out Good Things, it's a bit more on the sweet side of things!

Fantastic show in my opinion, the whole day was so much fun and despite getting caught in the pouring rain during post show activities, it didn't dampen our fun for the day one bit!
